2. Or, must hold the technical expertise required for digital forensics along with a degree in:

  • Software Engineering
  • Computer Engineering

3. Additional course training in forensic techniques and tools (cryptology / password cracking)

Job Description

Applicants will be responsible for carrying out certain specialized tasks as part of their job like; recovering data from hard drives (damaged or erased), analyze artifacts for evidence acquisition. And trace the hacks or evaluate the malware effects on an information system.

Other Duties

  • Seize equipment of committing crime, into custody, including: flash drives, computers, external storage media, backup tapes, digital cameras, smartphone, CD/DVDs, etc.
  • Operating imaging software on devices and equipments to copy disks & data.
  • Searching and restoring deleted / unavailable data with recovery programs.
  • Preserving a chain of custody for the evidences.
  • Producing reports and documentation of investigative procedures.
  • Providing testification in the court of law.

Thoroughly research information and details of evidences, from digital devices like; computers, smartphones, external storage devices, etc. The prime purpose of this job will be to research, recover, and expose a valuable set of information that can further be investigated to solve committed crimes.

IM: The most critical task would be to work with deleted, formatted, erased or manipulated information and recover them safely.

  • Research latest forensic techniques
  • Stay updated with the current malicious technologies and the evolving technology.

Other than holding degrees in technical and criminology section the researchers are also expected to have the following certifications (Optional):

  • CCE: Certified Computer Examiner
  • EnCE: EnCase Certified Examiner (Certifies professional with the use of Guidance Software's Encase computer forensic tool)
  • GSEC: Security Essentials Certifications
  • CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional, etc.
